For easy-to-implement emergency lighting, we can use the C-WG-0503S, module, which will provide us with 12 VDC power supply and control (binary output) for LED strips, which can be fitted into a standard lamp.

E.g. 5 cm of ordinary LED strip 12V, 4.8 W / m will provide us with sufficient lighting of the corridor and similar rooms and at the same time has a power input of only 0.24 W, ie it draws a current of 20 mA and can be switched directly eg by output DO1 of module C-WG-0503S (binary outputs of the module can switch current max. 30 mA). If we place the LED strip on the ceiling, then at floor level the light intensity is about 1 lx. The advantage of this solution is energy efficiency - we avoid a relay output for switching lighting, where only the closed relay itself takes 0.2 ÷ 0.4 W from the CIB, ie batteries.

The example also shows the connection of OPTEX RXC-ST PIR detectors to the C-WG-0503S module.

Notes:

  1. The example shows the connection of the detector loop as double balanced, the ALARM and TAMPER outputs with 1k resistors must be connected correctly on the detectors (see the general description of double balancing in this article).
  2. The correct installation of the detectors is indicated in their instructions for use.
  3. Each detector typically draws 8 mA from a 12V source. The LED light source can draw max. 30 mA (limitation of output DO1).
  4. A cable with a wire diameter of at least 0.3 mm can be used to connect the detectors, the cable length can be up to tens of meters, eg a SYKFY cable, any insulated wires with a diameter of at least 0.5 mm and a length of approx. 30 m can be used to connect the LED light source.
