The basic Foxtrot module of the CP-20xx series allows the use of WiFi wireless communication. WiFi connection can be used both for connecting CP to the local wireless network, or you can use the WiFi interface of the basic module to create your own network - the basic module is then in the function of an access point (AP) also referred to as a hotspot.
WiFi can be installed in the USB interface on the front of the CP-20xx (hereinafter External WiFi), we are also preparing the implementation of basic modules, where WiFi will be installed directly inside the module with an antenna to the connector on the front of the module (Internal WiFi).
Network communication is solved in the user program via the WLAN1 (Internal WiFi) or WLAN2 (External WiFi plugged into the USB connector) interface.
It is set using the web pages on the PLC https://foxtrot.local:8443/cgi-bin/network/wlan1.cgi or https://foxtrot.local:8443/cgi-bin/network/wlan2.cgi or from the program using the SetWiFiParam () or GetWiFiParam () functions in the ComLib library.
External WiFi
It is possible to connect a USB WiFi module to the control panel using USB port 1 (USB host next to the display).
