The IC-8701 is a peripheral module for the TC800 system, designed for applications requiring fast processing of binary signals.
The module offers:
- 8× DI (5–24 V DC) with a frequency of up to 100 kHz,
- 8× DO (5–24 V DC) implemented as ½ H-bridges (up to 2.7 A continuous output) or 4× push-pull transistor outputs with a frequency of up to 100 kHz.
There are 4 independent 32-bit counter devices with modes for up/down counting, IRC, period measurement, pulse width measurement, phase shift measurement, and PWM input. In up-counting mode, up to 8 counters can be used (4 up to 100 kHz and 4 up to 5 kHz).
The outputs can be configured to support up to 4 independent PWM channels or to control up to 4 stepper motors (STEP/DIR signals).
Both the inputs and outputs are connected to a standard 34-pin connector. The outputs are solid-state and feature overcurrent and thermal protection.
The module features input and output circuits that require an external supply voltage for each set of four inputs and outputs (VDIx and VDOx, respectively). In order to function, the module does not require the VIO supply connected to the power supply module (PW-8901).
The four inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated from the internal circuits and from each other.
Detailed information about the module is provided in the TXV 004 72 documentation.
